Science (Applied AAQ)

This course provides students with a broad understanding of vocationally-related sciences. It is suitable alongside other A-Level sciences or Level 3 vocational qualifications. Students develop their knowledge and understanding of scientific principles, as well as practical skills recognised by higher education institutions and employers. Students acquire transferable skills, such as problem-solving, research and communication. The qualification is equal to one GCE A-Level.

LEADING TO FUTURES IN:
Applied Science provides a sound basis for progression to a range of science-based Higher Education courses along with their apprenticeship equivalents. Students might go on to join many NHS careers such as nursing or midwifery, complete further training as a laboratory technician, work in
the chemical, food or catering industries or a variety of roles in sports science.

ADDITIONAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Grade 5/5 in GCSE Combined Science, Grade 5 in GCSE English Language and a Grade 4* in GCSE Maths.

NB: Students will need to purchase a lab coat and wear this during practical lessons.
