‘Life in all its Fullness’
At St Edward’s Academy, we believe in the transformative power of education. Our vision, that every young person should live life in all its fullness, drives our ambition to provide exceptional academic opportunities for all. Since 2018, it has been my privilege to lead a school where aspiration, challenge and achievement are at the heart of daily life.
We are proud to be part of the Unity Schools Partnership and the Chelmsford Diocese, building on a long history as one of Havering’s most established and respected secondary schools. Our tradition of excellence continues today through a rich, ambitious curriculum, high‑quality teaching and a culture that inspires students to achieve their very best.
St Edward’s Academy is recognised nationally for its strength in attendance and behaviour, and we serve as one of the Department for Education’s RISE Attendance and Behaviour Hubs. This role allows us to support schools across London, sharing our expertise in creating purposeful learning environments where students thrive.
Our commitment to academic success is matched by our belief that every student should have access to broad and exciting opportunities, from curriculum enrichment to extensive supra‑curricular programmes, ensuring they are well prepared for life beyond school.
I am immensely proud of our staff and students, whose dedication, curiosity and determination bring our values to life every day.

While academic excellence defines much of what we do, it is our strong pastoral care and sense of community that truly make St Edward’s Academy special. As Head of School, I see every day how our HOPE values, Humanity, Optimism, Perseverance and Excellence, shape a culture where every child feels seen, supported and encouraged to grow.
Relationships sit at the heart of our school. We work closely with families to ensure our students feel secure, confident and ready to learn. We know that children flourish when they feel cared for, and this belief guides every decision we make.
Wellbeing is central to our ethos. In December 2025, we proudly achieved the Wellbeing Award for Schools, a national recognition of our commitment to positive mental health and emotional wellbeing. This award reflects the strength of our pastoral systems, the dedication of our staff and our belief that a nurturing environment is essential for student success.
St Edward’s is a vibrant, inclusive and welcoming community. Over their seven years with us, students develop confidence, resilience and strong moral character, qualities that stay with them long after they leave.
