Welcome to St. Edward’s Sixth Form College
Making the right choice about where to study for your post-16 education is crucial. With such an important decision to make – it is incredibly important to choose a Sixth Form College that offers you an individual journey to your future, who will care about your personal development and who will promote your academic progress. If this sounds like a place where you would like to flourish then – St Edward’s Sixth Form College is for you!
The first thing you will notice about life in the Sixth Form College is that your relationship with your teachers has changed. The learning process becomes much more of a partnership between yourself and teachers and you will quickly learn that they are there to help you fulfil your potential.
The two years in the Sixth Form College offer greater freedom and opportunity, but along with this freedom comes more responsibility. It is a time for you to take control of your own future: a time when you will make big decisions as you prepare for Higher Education and the world of work, and we will be there to support you.
Every effort is made to create a Sixth Form curriculum that thoroughly engages you not only in academic rigour, but also in activities that give you life skills for the years beyond Higher Education. Offering A-levels, BTEC qualifications as well as the internationally recognised IB Diploma there is pathway for everyone.
In addition to the wide range of courses on offer, there is also further opportunities to enrich your studies through participation in initiatives such:
- Community Service
- Work experience
- Rag week and other charity events
- The ST.E.P programme
Our expectations of you are high – we see Sixth Form College students as exemplary role-models for our younger students and have only the highest standards for behaviour, attitude and attendance. This is coupled with high expectations for attainment and progress whilst you are studying with us.
Our students are guaranteed individual attention from their academic mentors and vertical form tutors thus enabling you to reach your academic potential. Strong pastoral and extra-curricular experiences help to produce well rounded, well informed and confident young people.
Our aim is that you leave St Edward’s Sixth Form College believing that everything you strive for is possible.
Thank you for taking the time to look at what we have to offer – if you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch. I am sure you will enjoy your time here.
