St Edward’s has been the ‘Church in the Market Place’ since 1410. St Edward’s Church has a close connection to St Edward’s Academy. It is the Parish Church for St Edward’s and the surrounding area so is available for the pastoral care of students, parents, and staff. Pupils regularly visit St Edward’s for special occasions throughout the church year and are encouraged to see the church as a space where they can connect with God, work out what the school values mean to them and make sense of their own spirituality.
The school holds services for year groups either at St Edward’s Church or at school throughout the academic year.
