• School Council
The concept of the School Council has been an important part of school life for several years and is made up of a number of students who are elected to represent the views of all students with the objective of generally improving the school in terms of its systems and the environment.  The Council works on two levels.  The Year Councils are made up of two representatives from each form group and are run by Council leaders from the 6th form.  Two representatives from each Year Council then further represent their Year group on the Whole School Council which is chaired by the Head Boys and Girls.   Meetings for the Year Councils are held approximately once a month with the Whole School Council meeting once every half term.  Each Year Council support a Year Charity hence, some activities are centred around money raising events.

For the past two years, Student Council representatives have also been involved in the process surrounding the appointment of internal or external candidates to a variety of roles and responsibilities within the school.  Groups of students have made up a number of interview panels which have been involved in the decision making process leading to the appointment of a number of new staff including the current Headteacher and the two Deputy Headteachers.  We are continuing to build on this foundation to increase the importance of Student Voice within the school.
