‘Life in all its Fullness’

It gives me great pleasure to introduce myself as Headteacher of St Edward’s Church of England Academy.  I have had the honour of leading St Edward’s since April 2018 and I am very proud of all that our students and staff achieve every day.

St Edward’s is part of the Unity School’s Partnership family of schools. We are a member of the Chelmsford Diocese and one of the longest established secondary schools in the London Borough of Havering.

At St Edward’s Academy, we are very proud of our long history, we celebrate our current achievements and we are excited about our future.  We remain dedicated to the vision of the original St Edward’s School and strive to provide the best quality education for children of all backgrounds, abilities and beliefs.

Everything that we do at St Edward’s rests on the strong foundation of our values and ethos.  We believe that all members of our community can live ‘Life in all its fullness’ through our HOPE values (Humanity, Optimism, Perseverance, Excellence).  These values underpin all that we do at St Edward’s.

Our rich and exciting curriculum stimulates student interest and offers a broad and balanced education for all. The achievement, progress, happiness and well-being of our students is at the centre of our vision and actions. By working in partnership with all of our students and their families, we strive to ensure that the children in our care benefit from the high quality education that they truly deserve.

We have a commitment to the highest academic standards. Through a wide range of curricular, extra-curricular and supra-curricular activities, St Edward’s Academy aims to enhance the life opportunities of all of our students. It is through the foundation of success at school that students will truly experience ‘Life in all its fullness’, in education and beyond.

St Edward’s Academy is friendly and welcoming. We offer excellent care, guidance and support for all our students. We have very high standards of behaviour and we strive for academic achievement for all of our students.

We want our students to be the very best that they can be. We therefore pledge to provide a rich educational experience so that every student is able to make excellent progress, whatever their starting point may be. The St Edward’s family is a learning community that involves parents and carers, has strong links with the local area and values its key role in the local community. Our students have pride in being part of St Edward’s and grow and develop over their 7 years with us.

If you are already part of the St Edward’s community, we are very happy to have your child as part of our school family.  If you are thinking about St Edward’s as the school of choice for your child, please email hope@steds.org.uk to arrange to speak with a member of school staff and organise a visit.
