We offer our students a rich choice of exciting learning opportunities. This of course includes the use of some of the very latest technology in teaching and learning.

In 2007 we were awarded the full International School Award in recognition of our commitment to promoting an international ethos within the life of the school. Our global partnerships and joint curriculum projects extend to many parts of the world, with sister schools in South Africa, The Gambia, Cuba, China, The Congo, France, Italy, Germany and Spain. These invaluable links have enabled us to widen the scope for all pupils to communicate directly with students overseas both through exchange visits and through the use of electronic communications.

We are proud of our commitment to outreach within the borough, both in our support in MFL in local secondary schools and the teaching of languages in over 25 primary schools. Many of our pupils at St Edward’s received languages lessons from our staff whilst in their primary schools and the links are very important to us.

We firmly believe that being a Language College is not just about having extra resources, impressive technology and diverse languages; it is essentially a means of developing students’ awareness, understanding and respect for other countries, their peoples and their cultures.
