If a student is going to be absent from school, parents are required to telephone the Student Absence Line. This is a dedicated answerphone for absences and should be called before 9am if possible, and daily thereafter, (unless you are aware that the student will be absent for a certain period of time) whereupon a letter should be provided and addressed to Miss Lovelace, Attendance Co-ordinator, Main School Office.
Request for Leave of Absence
The highest attendance at school is recognised as having a significant influence upon student attainment and well being. For this reason Absence from school is always followed up, and requests for absence are rarely authorised, apart for sporting and drama commitments. Holiday requests in term time are nearly always turned down and usually will be classified as an unauthorised absence.
