What time does my child need to be in school?

Students should be in school at 8.30am.

Why do I get truancy call text, when my child is in school?

Students must get a registration mark every morning, if for any reason they do not get a mark they must sign in at reception.  If they fail to do this a truancy call text will be sent to inform you of your child’s absence requesting an explanation.

What do I need to do if my child is going to be absent?

Leave a message on the absent line (01708 771111); this needs to be done daily, if you are unaware how long they will be absent.  A letter is required on their return.

What do I need to do if my child has an appointment?

Students need a letter advising the School of any appointments, this needs to be produced when they sign in or out at reception.

Is my child allowed holiday in school time?

Generally the answer is no.  Leave of absence is only allowed in exceptional circumstances; all other holiday would be unauthorised.

How much money is required for school meals?

£2.50 is sufficient for a school meal.

How can I get a message to my child?

Only urgent messages can be passed onto students, as classes have to be disturbed for this to happen.  Please let your child know before they leave for school if they have any appointments or a change to their normal arrangements.

Who do I need to contact, if I have a complaint?

In the first instance please contact the teacher/Head of Department for academic complaints or Form Tutor/Head of Year for pastoral concerns.  If you wish to take matters further please contact Mrs M Driscoll, the Headteacher’s PA.

What happens in severe weather?

If the School is going to be closed it will be announced on the school website and local radio.  Please no-longer expect a text as it takes too long for all parents to receive the news.
